Traniner(s):

Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan Jadoon
Renowned Geoscientist

Dr. Ishtiaq is a renowned geoscientist having thirty-one years of broad-based domestic and international geoscience academic, research, and industry experience in oil and gas exploration & exploitation with specialization in structural geology, balanced cross sections, tectonics, seismic interpretation, borehole logs interpretation, subsurface fracture analysis, reservoir characterization, description with core-image and a demonstrated sense of geological observations and structural interpretations at all scales.

Introduction:

The main driving force behind any nation's development is the availability of economical & secure energy resources. Inspite of the increasing use of renewable energy in this century, hydrocarbons are still the vital energy source. Rapidly increasing use and depletion of conventional oil & gas resources led the industry to find the new ways to explore these resources and at the same time looking for the possibilities of exploiting the non-conventional hydrocarbon resources. In pursuance of this aim, Petroleum Research Department, HDIP hold one-day workshop on “Thrust systems, hydrocarbon prospects and exploration in Pakistan”.

Summary:

This workshop provided an opportunity to share knowledge, bringing workers and scholars from different backgrounds together and discuss the latest developments in fold and thrust belt regimes of Pakistan and argue with your peers and to get instant feedback on ideas while taking a front row seat in an energy transition. This discussion enhances the participants vision and provide a foundation for further in-depth field inspection.
