About HDIP
The Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP) is the National Petroleum Research and Development (R&D) organization. It is a body corporate of the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) established in 1971 under a Resolution for the Federal Government.
The HDIP was established under Act No. 1 of 2006 to undertake, promote and guide scientific and technological research and development in the field of petroleum in upstream and downstream and for matters connected therewith or ancillary thereto.
The organization has earned itself a pioneering role in assisting exploration of oil and natural gas resources exploitation and use. It carries out research, maintain laboratories and acts as the technical advisory body to the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum Division on matters referred to it.
HDIP has ISO 9001 certified labs and trained professionals for ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards.
